Thieves on the lake again. At least two cabins broken into in the last week.

Tools, 14 ft boat, 8 hp yamaha kicker, as well as other smaller items stolen.

Don't want this post to be totally negative so am including a photo of the helicopters at Deer Point a couple weeks ago (to cheer things up a bit..)  A couple weeks ago I hitched a ride out to Deer Point and upon our arrival we came across a  bunch of guys with hockey nets on Gary's beach.. and next thing you know we have three different helicopter's landing on Gary's beach doing airlifts of hockey nets and hockey equipment...Why hockey nets at the north end of pitt lake? Best thing to do is read the New York Times article about it..

But here is the short version of the story in case the link doesn't work:  Several helicopter pilots who are friends with some ex NHLers got the crazy idea of trying to have a pick up hockey game on a frozen lake at 5500 ft elevation north of Pitt Lake. So thursday they cleaned the ice off a couple lakes - first one ice wasn't thick enough  so had to shovel it off a second lake, and then two days later on the saturday a pile of the guys jumped in a boat with their stuff, got off at Deer point and got them and their stuff airlifted to the lake for the day, played some hockey , and then  back to Deer point at the end of the day, and back on the boat to Grant Narrows before dark.. And while all that excitement was going on, a few of us were getting the breakwater in front of Gary's back in shape - we probably should have skipped the breakwater repair and tried to get a ride on the helicopters to watch the game - oh well, that's just how it goes sometimes...

Latest addition to the boatclub

Yesterday morning the family renting some dock space at the upstream end of our launch area docks had their population increased by six....

This is how they looked a few days ago...

This is the fence on the dock that serves two purposes.. It keeps people from falling through the broken sections of the dock on the other side of the fence! And it prevents people's unleashed dogs from running the length of the dock and chomping on the Geese!

Remember , one of the conditions of your moorage contract is that you are required  to have your dog on a leash on the docks and on boat club property.
