Merry Christmas and check your cabins, docks etc for damage....
Merry Christmas
Lots of issues with docks and even cabins on the lake as a result of yesterday's storm but a lot of people went up today so I expect most people have an idea of what happened with their docks.
If you get a chance it would be a good idea to check things out. Water levels were pretty high so it looks like a lot of stuff may have ended up stranded on the shore. Which may be good or bad depending if you can haul it back off and repair any damage.

Watch out for the sand bars and low water levels.
Water levels are low again. In fact last weekend rumour has it that a very nice boat with a big outboard had to get a tow from a jet boat to make it out of the slough. Also recently the sandbar just north of goose bar has been causing trouble for unsuspecting boaters. Anyway the map below shows the reason for the yellow cautionary buoy and what it is telling you to be cautious of.
Click on the map below to enlarge it.
To get a guess of what the waterlevels are doing at the boat club people often look at the New Westminster tide data and then add an hour or two to have a rough idea of what to expect at the boat club. However the Pitt and Fraser flows and can have a big impact on the water levels and time delay so you should make your own estimates and remember that whatever you assume may not be what actually happens.
